Engr. Wale Balogun, 419 meets me, smart babe!

I must tell you about this experience that is happening to me now and i am really enjoying it because the hunter is gradually becoming the hunted.
These people feel i am so desperate about getting rich that they came after me. Me? Omo Ilaje, I was smarter than them.
I have their names and phone numbers and i will tell you all what happened.

Know about hairdressing

There are some people (like me) who go to the salon at least twice a week. I also know some who visits every month or two months.
If you do a million braid, why would you go the salon every week? Some wash that hair once a month and they can carry it for like three months.
You do understand why some women behave like they have problems with their brain, at times. They tend to hit the head with their hands instead of scratching so that 'it will not scatter because it is not easy to pack a million braid'.
I have come to realise that you don't have to go the salon for everything about your hair. There are certain things you can do at home but you can pay a courtesy visit to your hairdresser o.
Therefore, I am seizing this opportunity to come to our conference for hairdressers and stakeholders in the hair industry so that you can learn about innovations in the business.
You can start a hairdressing business of yours, without being a trained stylist, if you are able to acquire the required knowledge.
The Hairdressers' Conference/Exhibition will hold on October 25. Trust me, i will give you more gists on it.

Raise your chicken for free @ Alausa

If you have a passion for breeding chicken but no space for it or enough capital to set up a poultry, don't worry, there is enough space for you at the Lagos State secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja. You will not pay for anything.
First, brand your chickens. You can tint their feathers in a colour of your choice or tie some pieces of cloth around the wing.
Next, befriend a worker there who would ensure the chickens stay close by and, if they move far, can also monitor them well.
Then, take the chickens to the Secretariat and simply drop them on the lawns.
You don’t believe this is possible? Go to the secretariat and you would be surprised at the number of wandering chickens there.

LASSA: Corporate govt. agency

Have you ever been to the office of Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency (LASAA) just opposite the secretariat? When you step into this premise, you will find it difficult to believe that it is a government agency because the decor is different from what is obtainable in other government offices; corporate and friendly.
To compliment this aesthetic environment, the staffs are always smartly dressed with exotic cars. Someone even said that, I don’t know how truthful this is, LASAA makes more money than even some ministries.

Forget Olympics, invest in Paralympics

Yes, the much talked about London Olympics has come and gone with so much fanfare. Who said Naija was not well rep? Then you didn't watch the opening ceremony.
Nigerian contingent were given thumbs up for their outfit. I saw it and I was proud to be a Naija woman. What happened after that is story for another day.
The long and short of my story is that those able bodied athletes came back with nothing after those in charge have 'wasted' billions of Naira in preparing for the game.
Now, it is the turn of physically challenged athletes to showcase their potentials and some people (I have not mentioned names o) are harassing them to come home with a specific number of medals.
The truth must be told, our paralympians leave for the games without fanfare, get their medals (without some officials back home telling them 150 millions depend on them) and they return without recognition.
God will judge it o
My suggestion: Lets invest more in the physically challenged athletes if we are concerned about wining medals at the Olympics.

I bet you will not dispute this!

Gisting morning for civil servants
Have you ever been to the secretariat when the civil servants are just resuming? If not, I will let you in on what transpires that early in the morning. There is the usual greetings and throwing of banters usually at the corridors. Don’t be surprised if you somebody on the first or second floor talking at the top of his voice to a friend on the road.
Next, they eat the food they would have ordered from either Equal Right or Pilgrims corner. Then, you can now relax with the film that would be shown on LTV 8 while poring over one or two files.

AbdulHakeem scares lawmakers with Quran

This story was published in 2010

Aside being the special adviser to the Governor on political and religious matters, Hon. Abdullateef AbdulHakeem is also an Islamic cleric who delivers lectures and sermons with reality. As a chief imam at the House of Assembly mosque, he does not tolerate nonsense.
Probably this would explain why he caused a stir at the House of Assembly some days back when he brought two Quarans to the chamber during a plenary session.
Some top government functionaries such as the Commissioners for Waterfront Infrastructures, Establishment and Finance as well as the S.A Rural Development, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Director of Medicals had been invited to defend their request in the 2010 Supplementary Budget.
Surprisingly, Lateef, who was never invited, came shortly before the sitting started and openly displayed his Qurans. Each time any of the commissioners or officials tries to defend his request, Lateef would display his Quran and pay serious attention. After the presentation, Lateef would go out, only to come back with whoever is coming in next. This prompted the Speaker of the House, Adeyemi Ikuforiji to ask the S.A if he actually came to give spiritual protection to the public officers.
Even after the completion of the business of the day, Adeyemi thanked Lateef for coming, asking him, ‘hope you can now go with your Quran.’

Na wah!

I was working on my small laptop (notebook or whatever name the small ones are called) and enjoying my type of music when some friends walked over to listen to my music.
I obliged and gave them the earpiece. To my dismay, one of them (a married lady with two kids) asked, "Is this the type of music you listen to?"
I said yes and she goes, "KWAM 1 ke? So you enjoy all the nonsense those fuji people sing? I expect you to listen to real Naija songs like Wizkid, D'Banj and 9ice. At worse, it will be juju but not this."
I smiled, collected my earpiece and continued my work without looking at her again.
So, is it now a crime not to join them because i can't beat them?
I can't dance to those her 'naija songs' because it is not for agbalagba (adult) like me but i can move to KWAM 1 at any time.
Am sure this woman is one of those who go online to deceive themselves that they are still young and can do what those youngsters will do without batting an eyelid.
Me? I can't o. So, let me be and enjoy my KWAM 1 even if I had to listen to his story of traveling around the world.
