Boycurdie is out with Wakawaka, Afro hiprap

As young as Oluwadamilare ‘Boycurdie’ Odunbaku is, he is an ardent fan of the legendary Afrobeat king, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

The Epe, Lagos State born artiste started out his music career as a rapper in 2010 while still in secondary school. He recorded his first few tracks and also participated in a few rap battles held in his hood (Akoka).

Inspired by the great love he has for Afro-music and the legendary Fela, he tried doing a few tracks with the afro style. He discovered it was a lot easier and interesting for him, thus Afro music was the key.

He ventured into listening to more of Fela tracks, re-polishing the lyrics and making them up to date. The multi-talented Boycurdie calls his style of music Afro Hiprap i:e An afro singer and also a rapper.

Having worked with producers such as Laylow, Runtinzbeat and I.D Cabassa, Boycurdie now has officially released his single, Waka Waka which is currently making waves, and with no record label or manager, Boycurdie seems to be doing fine.

Even though Boycurdie has gone for a few performances he believes that one day he will perform live on stage at the African Shrine, home of the legendary Fela.
